Tixeo 18.2 is now available. A contractor, an expert or a partner can join a sensitive meeting straight from a browser, with nothing to install, and the exchange that establishes the meeting keys is covered by post-quantum protection, active by default. That protection applies as soon as every participant connects from a browser running 18.2.

Bringing in an outside party without moving the meeting

In a sensitive organisation, difficult subjects almost always involve someone from outside, whether an engineering consultancy, an appointed expert or an industrial partner. When joining the meeting means installing software or waiting for an approved device, the conversation tends to happen somewhere else, on a tool nobody controls.

With 18.2, the guest clicks the link and enters the secure meeting from their browser, with no account and no installation. Participants get the full set of collaboration features (messaging, file transfer, screen and application sharing and more), with every exchange protected end to end.

« Sensitive organisations want collaboration tools as simple to use as the ones they are accustomed to, without compromising on the security of their exchanges. That twofold requirement guided the development of our V18.2: a familiar interface that people pick up immediately, while maintaining the level of protection their activities demand. » Renaud Ghia, President of Tixeo

Why post-quantum already concerns your meetings

No quantum computer can break the encryption in use today. Encrypted communications can still be collected now, stored, and opened on the day the computing power exists. Executive committees, defence programmes and industrial negotiations exchange information that will stay sensitive for years.

The risk sits on the exchange that establishes the meeting key. With 18.2, in the browser, Tixeo strengthens that key exchange by combining the classical mechanism with a standardised post-quantum mechanism, ML-KEM-768. The encryption key stays secret for as long as either one holds, and the streams themselves remain encrypted with a 256-bit key.

This anticipates the deadline set by ANSSI, the French national cybersecurity agency: from 2027, certain categories of security product will have to include quantum-resistant mechanisms to be certified. In the UK, the NCSC asks organisations to have completed their cryptographic discovery work and an initial migration plan by 2028, their highest-priority migrations by 2031, and the full move to post-quantum cryptography by 2035.

Tixeo’s end-to-end encryption remains enabled by default for every use, whatever the number of participants, from the application or from a browser.

Benefits for users and administrators

For users, there is nothing to switch on and nothing to choose.

  • Post-quantum protection is active by default, with no setting to adjust and no fallback mode.
  • It covers every meeting stream (audio, video, screen sharing, chat) and the Workspaces (messaging, virtual open space, file transfer).
  • It applies when all participants are connected from a browser running 18.2. If one of them uses the application or an earlier version, the exchange stays protected by Tixeo’s end-to-end encryption, with the classical key exchange.

For administrators, browser access is enabled server-side from the administration console and authorised profile by profile. The organiser selects the security profile that suits the meeting, and web access is enabled automatically. The organisation keeps full control throughout.

Smoother collaboration day to day

Meetings and Workspaces (messaging, files and the virtual open space) all sit in a single browser tab.

During a meeting, when the user moves to another tab, picture-in-picture keeps participants visible in a floating window. The expanded side menu also keeps messages and Workspaces in view without leaving the meeting.

For multilingual teams, real-time subtitling makes collaboration easier. Available in six languages, the feature is powered by a sovereign AI, as are the transcript and the meeting summary, both available once a meeting has been recorded.

Version 18.2 also brings several improvements for those who organise and administer meetings:

  • sign-in through the user’s default browser, with several configurable identity providers,
  • Outlook delegation, which lets an executive assistant create a Tixeo meeting on behalf of someone else,
  • customisable platform emails, with test sends before going live,
  • mobile notifications that can be routed through a self-hosted server, using the open UnifiedPush protocol.

Innovation in communications security, developed in France

Committed to digital autonomy, Tixeo is a French software publisher and has been developing its end-to-end encrypted collaboration platform in France for over 20 years. Version 18.2 drew on its R&D teams to go further in innovation and in communications security, combining ease of access with confidentiality that holds against the threats to come.

Post-quantum protection will be extended over the coming months to the mobile application, then to the native client.

Since 2017, Tixeo’s technology has been awarded CSPN certification four times by ANSSI, the security visa issued by the French national cybersecurity agency. With its Secure by Design architecture, end-to-end encryption enabled by default and deployment in a sovereign cloud or on-premise, the platform meets the needs of the most constrained environments.
