Recording and Transcription
-
How to start recording a meeting?
Recording a Tixeo meeting is launched directly from the in-meeting interface.
- Join or start your meeting.
- In the toolbar at the top of the screen, click the More menu (the “···” icon on the right).
- A dropdown menu appears with the options.
- Click Record to start the recording.
The recording begins immediately. A red blinking indicator appears in the top left corner of the screen to confirm that recording is active.
Note: Only the organizer and the co-organizer(s) can start the recording of the meeting.
-
How do I know if a meeting is being recorded?
Tixeo notifies all participants when a meeting is being recorded, in two ways:
1. The red indicator in the top left
A red blinking indicator appears in the upper left corner of the meeting window as soon as recording is active.
2. The information notification
An Information banner appears in the bottom right of the screen with the message:
“A recording is in progress for this meeting.”
This notification is visible to all participants, whether they are organizers or guests.
Tixeo ensures transparency: no participant can be recorded without their knowledge.
-
How to pause or stop the recording?
Once recording has started, you can pause or stop it at any time.
Pausing:
Click the Pause button (⏸ icon) visible in the top left of the screen, next to the red indicator. The recording is suspended but can be resumed.
Stopping the recording:
Click the Stop button (⏹ icon) in the top left. The recording stops automatically when there are no participants left in the meeting and the scheduled time has elapsed.
A notification confirms the stop:
“The recording has been suspended or stopped.”
Tip: Use the pause feature if you want to exclude certain parts of the discussion from the recording (e.g., breaks, off-topic confidential exchanges).
-
Is the recording compatible with Tixeo's end-to-end encryption?
Yes. The Tixeo recorder is fully compatible with the end-to-end encryption that protects your video conferences.
This means that the recording of your meeting benefits from the same level of security as the meeting itself. Your conversations remain confidential, even in their recorded form.
The Tixeo AI meeting assistant (transcription, summary, translation) is also 100% private and sovereign: data does not leave the Tixeo infrastructure and is not processed by third-party services.
This architecture guarantees the confidentiality of your exchanges, including for meetings covering sensitive or critical topics.
-
How to access the recording after a meeting?
Once the meeting is over and the recording has stopped, you can find the file in two ways.
Via the Activity panel (Tixeo client):
- Click on Activity in the left sidebar.
- A New recording notification appears with the meeting name.
- Click View the recording to access it directly.
Via the Tixeo web interface (TMMS):
- Log in to your Tixeo web account.
- Go to the My Meetings section, then click on View details for the relevant meeting.
- Open the Attached Files tab.
- The recording is available with its information (file name, creation date, size).
- You can watch the video streaming or click Download to download the video file.
-
How to make the recording accessible to participants?
By default, a meeting recording is only accessible to the organizer and co-organizers. You can choose to share it with all participants.
- Log in to the Tixeo web interface (TMMS).
- Go to My meetings, then click on the recorded meeting (Show details).
- Open the Attachments/files tab.
- In the Accessibility of attachments section, enable the Accessible to all attendees toggle (green).
Meeting participants can now access the recording from their own Tixeo space.
-
How to generate a transcription from a recording?
Tixeo V18 includes an AI assistant that automatically transcribes, summarizes, and translates your meetings from the recording.
- Log in to the Tixeo web interface (TMMS).
- Go to My meetings, then click on the recorded meeting (Show Details).
- Open the Attached Files tab.
- In the Transcription section, click the Generate Transcription button.
- The transcription process starts. The section then displays: Transcription may take some time depending on the queue, along with a processing identifier (Job ID) and the creation date.
- Once the Transcription is available, you can download it or open it directly in your browser.
Estimated processing time: approximately 5 minutes for a 60-minute meeting (may vary depending on the queue).
A New transcription notification appears in your Activity panel (Tixeo client) as soon as the document is ready. Click Read the transcription to access it.
-
What does the Tixeo transcription document contain?
The document generated by the Tixeo AI assistant is a downloadable PDF file. It contains a complete and structured summary of your meeting, organized into several sections:
Summary page:
- Company / Meeting name — general information
- Organization — organizer’s name
- Start / End date — meeting timestamp
- Key topics — list of themes discussed during the meeting
- Summary — written synthesis of the exchanges
- Decisions taken — list of decisions made during the meeting
- Next steps — actions to be taken following the meeting
Transcription pages:
The end of the document contains the full transcription of exchanges, with speaker names and their contributions, useful for your traceability needs.
The document also mentions on the last page the Tixeo version used and the identifiers of the AI models used for transcription, summarization, and translation.
-
How to translate a transcription?
The Tixeo AI assistant can generate the transcription document in several languages, in addition to French.
Available translation languages:
- 🇬🇧 English
- 🇪🇸 Spanish (Español)
- 🇩🇪 German (Deutsch)
The translation is generated automatically at the same time as the transcription. The PDF document contains both versions (source language and translated language).
This feature is particularly useful for multilingual meetings or for sharing meeting notes with international colleagues.
-
I can't see the recording in my meetings, why?
If you cannot find the recording file in the My Meetings section, it is because you were not the organizer of that meeting and the organizer has not granted you access rights to the recording.
By default, recordings are only visible to the meeting organizer.
What should you do?
Contact the meeting organizer and ask them to expand the access rights to the recording for participants. They can do this from their Tixeo web interface (TMMS), in the settings of the relevant meeting.
For more information on the procedure for the organizer, refer to the topic: How to make the recording accessible to participants?
