    How to change my name during a meeting?

    To change your participant name in Tixeo, follow the steps below:

    • Open the TixeoCommunicationClient application and log in to your account.
    • In the left-hand side menu, open the “Profile” menu (Account tab).
    • Update the First Name and Name fields.
    • Click “Save” to apply the changes.

    ⚠️ Important
    If you make this change during an ongoing video conference, you will need to leave the meeting and join it again for the change to take effect.

    How to access Tixeo Settings?

    The Settings section in Tixeo V18 brings together all application configuration options, organized into two tabs: Media and System.

    To open Settings:

    1. Click the Settings icon (gear ⚙️) in the left sidebar.
    2. The Settings window opens with two tabs at the top:
    • Media — to configure your audio and video devices, privacy, and meeting preferences.
    • System — for startup options, language, theme, and version information.
    1. Click Close to exit Settings.

    💡 Changes take effect immediately and do not require restarting the application.

    How to choose your microphone in Tixeo?

    Tixeo V18 lets you select the microphone to use during meetings, independently from your system’s default settings.

    1. Click Settings (⚙️) in the left sidebar.
    2. Stay on the Media tab.
    3. In the Audio section, click the dropdown list next to Microphone.
    4. Select the desired device from the list (e.g., USB headset, built-in microphone…).
      • The Use system default device option automatically uses the microphone set in Windows settings.
    5. The microphone input level is displayed in real time on the volume bar to the right.
    6. Click Close to confirm.

    💡 If your microphone does not appear in the list, check that it is properly connected and recognized by Windows before restarting Tixeo.

    How to choose your speakers in Tixeo?

    Tixeo V18 lets you choose the audio output device (speakers or headset) used to hear participants during meetings.

    1. Click Settings (⚙️) in the left sidebar.
    2. Stay on the Media tab.
    3. In the Audio section, click the dropdown list next to Speakers.
    4. Select the desired device from the available options:
    • Use system default device — uses the default playback device set in Windows.
    • Detected devices (USB headset, Realtek speakers, etc.) are listed individually.
    1. To test the sound, click the (play) button to the right of the volume bar.
    2. Click Close to confirm.

    💡 If you use a headset for meetings, make sure to select it here to prevent audio from playing through your computer’s built-in speakers.

    How to test your microphone and speakers in Tixeo?

    Before an important meeting, Tixeo V18 lets you verify that your microphone and speakers are working correctly from within Settings.

    Testing the microphone:

    1. Click Settings (⚙️) in the left sidebar.
    2. In the Media tab, Audio section, find the Microphone row.
    3. Speak: the level bar on the right should animate in real time, confirming your microphone is capturing sound.

    Testing the speakers:

    1. On the Speakers row, click the (play) button to the right of the volume bar.
    2. A test sound should play through the selected device.

    Accessing advanced device settings (Windows):

    1. Click the gear icon (⚙️) to the right of the device name (microphone or speakers).
    2. The Windows Sound panel opens, allowing you to adjust advanced properties (sample rate, exclusive mode, audio enhancements, etc.).

    How to choose your camera and adjust video quality?

    Tixeo V18 lets you select the camera to use and adjust the quality of the video transmitted during your meetings.

    1. Click Settings (⚙️) in the left sidebar.
    2. In the Media tab, scroll down to the Video section.
    3. Choosing the camera:
      • Click the Camera dropdown and select the desired device (e.g., built-in webcam, external USB camera).
      • A live preview is displayed on the right to confirm the camera is working.
    4. Adjusting video quality: Click the Quality dropdown and choose from the available levels:
      • Standard — basic quality, recommended for limited connections.
      • Medium — intermediate quality, a good balance between smoothness and bandwidth usage.
      • High — high quality, recommended for reliable connections.
      • HD 720p — HD quality (1280 × 720 px), suitable for most everyday use.
      • HD 1080p — Full HD quality (1920 × 1080 px), ideal for sharp, detailed video.
      • 4K — Ultra HD quality, maximum resolution; requires a very fast connection and a powerful computer.
    5. Click Close to confirm.

    💡 If your connection is slow or unstable, lowering the video quality can improve meeting fluidity.

    How to use a virtual background in Tixeo?

    Tixeo V18 lets you blur your background or display a virtual background image during your meetings, to protect your privacy or maintain a professional image.

    1. Click Settings (⚙️) in the left sidebar.
    2. In the Media tab, go to the Virtual background section.
    3. Choose from the available options:
      • No filter — no effect applied, your real background is visible.
      • Light blur — your background is slightly blurred.
      • Blur — your background is heavily blurred.
      • Preset images — click one of the images provided by Tixeo to replace your background.
      • Customize your background (+ icon) — import your own image from your computer.
    4. Click Close to confirm.

    💡 To disable the effect, select No filter. For best results with a custom image, use an image of at least 1280 × 720 pixels.

    How to configure camera and microphone behavior when joining a meeting?

    By default in Tixeo V18, the camera and microphone are disabled when you join a meeting. You can change this behavior in Settings.

    1. Click Settings (⚙️) in the left sidebar.
    2. In the Media tab, scroll down to the Privacy section.
    3. Two options are available:
      • Turn camera on when you join a meeting — if checked, your camera will automatically activate each time you join a meeting.
      • Turn microphone on when you join a meeting — if checked, your microphone will automatically activate each time you join a meeting.
    4. Check or uncheck the boxes according to your preferences.
    5. Click Close to confirm.

    How to configure meeting preferences in Tixeo?

    The Meetings section in the Media Settings lets you adjust Tixeo’s behavior during meetings:

    1. Click Settings (⚙️) in the left sidebar.
    2. In the Media tab, scroll down to the Meetings section.
    3. The available options are:
      • Always show the Setup Wizard at meeting startup — microphone/camera test) ; checked by default.
      • Disable video streams to reduce bandwidth usage — disables incoming video streams to save bandwidth. Useful on slow connections.
      • Always show meeting toolbar — By default, the bar disappears after a few moments during a meeting.
      • Position the toolbar at the bottom of the screen — instead of the top.
    4. Check or uncheck the options according to your needs.
    5. Click Close to confirm.

    How to manage notification sounds in Tixeo?
    1. Click Settings (⚙️) in the left sidebar.
    2. In the Media tab, scroll down to the Notifications section.
    3. Click the Mute the sound dropdown and choose from the three options:
      • Never — notification sounds are always active.
      • During meetings — sounds are muted only during an ongoing meeting, to avoid disturbing participants.
      • Always — all notification sounds are permanently disabled.
    4. Click Close to confirm.

    💡 The During meetings option is recommended to prevent alerts from new messages or invitations from disrupting your meetings, while keeping audio notifications active at other times.

    How to change the language or theme of the Tixeo interface?

    Changing the language:

    1. Click Settings (⚙️) in the left sidebar.
    2. Click the System tab.
    3. In the Language dropdown, select the desired language (e.g., French, English).
    4. The language is applied after restarting the application.

    Changing the theme:

    1. Still in the System tab, click the Theme dropdown.
    2. Choose from the available options:
      • System — automatically adapts to your operating system’s light or dark theme.
      • Light — light mode interface.
      • Dark — dark mode interface.
    3. The theme is applied immediately.
    4. Click Close to confirm.

    How to enable/disable Tixeo automatic startup?

    Tixeo V18 is configured by default to start automatically with your system, so it is always available as soon as you log in. To change this option:

    1. Click Settings (⚙️) in the left sidebar.
    2. Click the System tab.
    3. In the System section, check the Launch at startup box.
      • When this option is enabled, Tixeo launches automatically every time Windows starts.
      • Uncheck the box to disable this behavior.
    4. Click Close to confirm.

    💡 Enabling automatic startup is useful if you use Tixeo daily and want to never miss a notification or meeting invitation.

    How to check the installed version of Tixeo?

    It can be useful to know the exact version of Tixeo Communication Client installed on your computer, especially when submitting a support request or checking whether an update is available.

    1. Click Settings (⚙️) in the left sidebar.
    2. Click the System tab.
    3. In the System section, locate the Version field.
    4. The full version is displayed, for example: 18.0.0+20260206_161901_WINDOWS64, along with information about your operating system (e.g., Windows 11, Version 25H2, 64-bit).

    💡 When contacting Tixeo support, remember to share this information to help diagnose your issue more quickly.

    How to send system information to Tixeo support?

    When experiencing a technical issue, Tixeo V18 lets you automatically send your system information to the support team to help with diagnosis.

    1. Click Settings (⚙️) in the left sidebar.
    2. Click the System tab.
    3. Click the Send system info link.
    4. Technical information from your computer (application version, operating system, hardware configuration) is sent to Tixeo support.

    Other useful links available in this tab:

    • Contact support — opens the Tixeo support contact form or page.
    • Help — accesses Tixeo’s online documentation.
    • Enable debug mode — generates detailed logs to help analyze a technical issue (use only at the request of support).

    💡 If you encounter a bug or unexpected behavior, using Send system info before contacting support allows the necessary diagnostic data to be transmitted directly.

    Where is the Tixeo configuration file stored?

    The Tixeo Communication Client configuration file (config.ini) contains all application settings. Its location can be useful for advanced use or during a technical diagnosis at the request of support.

    File location:

    The file is located in your Windows user profile’s AppData folder:

    C:\Users\[your_username]\AppData\Local\tixeoclient\

    To access it:

    1. Open Windows Explorer.
    2. In the address bar, type %localappdata%\tixeoclient\ and press Enter.
    3. The config.ini file is visible in this folder.

    File contents:

    The config.ini file contains in particular:

    • Audio and video settings ([Audio video]).
    • Network and proxy settings ([Network], [Proxy]).
    • Language, theme, and interface options.
    • The identifier of the Tixeo server you are connected to.

    ⚠️ This file is intended for advanced use. Do not edit it manually unless explicitly asked to do so by Tixeo support.
